A Coos Bay resident has been charged with two counts of arson following fires at houses in North Bend and Coos Bay on Wednesday. Chad Bunnell, 30, is also charged with one count of attempted arson and three counts of unlawful manufacture of a destructive device. Firefighters responded to the first fire Wednesday morning at 10:33 a.m., after receiving reports of a possible explosion at a house on Brussells Street in North Bend. Police and firefighters discovered a broken window and a small fire at the residence. Further investigation determined that the house on Brussells Street was struck with a manufactured explosive device.
