From late spring to early fall, it's all over the news. Images of wildfires roaring all over the country show up on TVs while news anchors report lives lost, acres destroyed and information about firefighters trying to contain the blazes. This is the closest some will come to wildfires — looking in through screens — but for the crews fighting them, it's another story. Oregon is no stranger to wildfires, and now, Salem-area residents have the chance to see a documentary focusing on a crew that trained in Grants Pass. "Wildland," directed by Alex Jablonski and Kahlil Hudson, follows the crew through two fire seasons, from their initial job interviews to rigorous training and, eventually, the first time some of them come face to face with a wildfire.
