For the first time ever, you can borrow life jackets when hitting the water in Lebanon.
It’s all through a new program the Lebanon Fire District rolled out this summer, placing three, permanent life jacket kiosks at popular swimming areas along the South Santiam River.
Anyone in need of a vest is welcome to borrow one.
Each kiosk has 14 life vests.
Sizes range from infant to extra-large adult.
All you have to do is sign a waiver form, put it in a box provided and return the life vest when you're done on the water.
The goal is to get everyone on the water to wear a life jacket.
