If you saw a bunch of fire trucks hanging around Highway 99 and Garfield Street in Medford, there's no need to worry. Four different fire agencies were beginning a group training. Medford Fire-Rescue said it is pretty rare to be able to get four different agencies together for a training. It's an opportunity for the different departments to train together and work on their communications. "Our cohesiveness is absolutely paramount. Everybody has to know what they are doing. We work really well with each other. Radio communication has to be really simple yet we all have to be on the same page using the same types of words," said Fire District 5 engineer Bill Boylan. The crews cut through the metal door and trekked through machine-made smoke looking for fire and any potential victims. Medford Fire-Rescue said training together is necessary before they step onto a real scene of a fire.
