The driver of a pick-up truck walked away with no injuries after driving into a Shady Cove Motel Monday afternoon, swiping a food truck in the business's parking lot along the way. The accident happened around 3 p.m. according to security footage from the Maple Leaf Motel. Motel owner Danny Ruiz said he heard a big crash as the truck slammed into his business. Seconds later, multiple people ran to the scene to see if the driver was injured. Ruiz's daughter, Danielle Williams, said her father frantically called her after the accident. The truck had destroyed three motel rooms and a laundry area for staff. "Luckily no one was in these rooms," she said. "All of our guests are on the other end of the motel right now." The Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash. According to their call logs, a 36-year-old man was driving the Chevy Silverado pickup truck involved in the accident.
