A two-alarm fire engulfed a large Southwest Portland house early Tuesday, firefighters say. Portland Fire & Rescue said the Southwest Montgomery Place house was fully overtaken by flames. Photos show the charred remains of the house and plenty of smoke. Firefighters were delayed in their arrival because of narrow streets, steep terrain and initial problems finding the fire in the Portland Heights neighborhood. The first two 911 callers were drivers on nearby U.S. 26. and couldn’t provide an accurate address, according to the fire and rescue agency. One person was displaced because of the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
