Rescue crews were able to reach and save a 17-year-old boy who slipped and fell almost 30 feet at Toketee Falls in the Umpqua National Forest on Sunday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. 911 received a report around 2:30 p.m. about the teen, who reportedly fell 100 feet from Toketee Falls. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found that the 17-year-old Redmond boy had crossed over a safety railing and dropped about 10 feet, before sliding 20 more feet down the embankment. "The male suffered only minor injuries. Rescue crews were able to safely assist him back to the trail where he walked back to the parking lot on his own," the Sheriff's Office said. The teen was taken to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance to be evaluated.
