Two drivers crashed into a Beaverton house while street racing early Monday morning, causing the home to catch fire. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said. A Beaverton Police officer spotted the two drivers racing near Southwest 167th and Division Street at about 1:15 a.m. and called for backup. As sheriff's deputies were responding, they learned that both vehicles had crashed into a house in the 5300 block of Southwest 167th Avenue, just off Farmington Road, causing a fire. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue worked with other first responders to evacuate two people who were inside the home. Initial reports state that Andrez Velasquez, 23, of Beaverton was driving a silver 2009 Honda Accord, and a 21-year-old woman - who has not yet been identified - was driving a black 2010 Lexus 250. The driver of the Lexus crashed into the front of the house, while Velasquez crashed into the home's garage.
