The Depoe Bay Fire District and the Oregon State Fire Marshal served a notice last week to the Burlwood Gallery in Depoe Bay, ordering the business closed down and vacated due to “multiple hazardous conditions” and five years of repeated violations by the owner.
According to a press release issued by the Depoe Bay Fire District, the notice was served April 2 after a several-day investigation and inspection of the building warranted a closure.
The release cites questionable electrical provisions, construction and occupancy within the building that caused imminent life safety hazards to the occupants, first responders and the adjacent property/occupants as a result of continued and nonconforming, noncompliance of written fire code violations as the reason for the closure.
