A volunteer cleanup effort for the Blue River community kicks off Friday. The effort is aimed at helping those who lost their homes in the Holiday Farm Fire. Community members and the Cascade Relief Team are coordinating this cleanup, but more volunteers are needed. The group is asking for heavy equipment and chain saws, as well as volunteers helping bag and sift ash. Machines requested include a dump truck, dump trailer, skid-steer loader and a mini excavator. Personal protective equipment and other items are also needed, including gloves, tables, generators, hand warmers and new rain gear. Volunteers will be cutting and removing fire waste throughout the area. If you would like to be on site to help, visit the Cascade Relief website.
