The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday that someone is missing Wednesday after a landslide swept away their car in the Columbia River Gorge. An evacuation order is in place for the community of Dodson, which is located between Multnomah Falls and the Bonneville Dam on the Oregon side of the Columbia Gorge. Multnomah County's emergency management team is now urging people in Dodson to leave immediately and head east. They say the serious threat of landslides is making it unsafe for crews to attempt rescues. That same danger is hindering the search efforts for a person whose vehicle was swept away by a debris flow early Tuesday morning. Firefighters looked for heat sources using a thermal imaging camera, and a drone search for the vehicle was unsuccessful. The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says the Red Cross has rooms available for Dodson evacuees at the Best Western in Hood River, located at 1108 East Marina Way.
