Crews battled a house fire in NE Portland early Thursday morning. The fire began near Northeast 26th and Everett at around 6:15 a.m. Firefighters said it was a basement garage fire that extended into the home. Officials say firefighters had to mitigate a fallen power line. Video shows the downed powerline was arcing at the scene of the fire, causing large sparks. Fire crews at the scene told KATU News that everyone got out of the home safely and no one was hurt.
