Two people are dead following a single-vehicle crash on Takilma Road southeast of Cave Junction in the early hours of Thursday morning, according to the Josephine County Sheriff's Office. Deputies, firefighters from the Illinois Valley Fire District, and AMR medics responded to the crash shortly before 1 a.m. for reports of a crash in the 5900-block of Takilma Road. At the scene, deputies found a "heavily damaged" vehicle that had crashed into a tree. Two people were trapped inside, but first responders determined that they had both died.
