Crews are at the scene of a 2-alarm apartment fire near downtown Portland Wednesday morning.
According to Portland Fire & Rescue, smoke and fire were showing from a 5th-floor apartment.
Fire officials said the fire came from a fifth-floor apartment, and flames did not extend beyond the unit. The fire was extinguished within 8 minutes of the initial crew's arrival.
"This fast fire attack and extinguishment were critical, as this is an older building that does not have a sprinkler system," a PF&R spokesperson wrote.
No injuries were reported, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
