The Oregon State Fire Marshal has completed their investigation on the massive fire that erupted at the Grain Craft Flour Mill in Pendleton that began on Aug. 9 and flared up again on Aug. 10. One of the factories with the third largest flour miller in the United States is a complete loss. The original report came just before 3 p.m. on Aug. 9 as a small fire with no visible flames, but at 4 a.m. on Aug. 10, flames shot out of the mill sending debris throughout the town. Police said because of the dry grain and wood in the mill, the blaze engulfed the whole building. Fire officials reported one firefighter was taken to the hospital for a heat-related injury and was later released. No other injuries have been reported.
