The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is checking on a lead about the owners of a mystery raft stranded on the Rogue River. It appealed to the public today for information related to the "Homemade Huck Finn" style raft stuck on rocks at the Savage Creek rapid without riders. As the Jackson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) Marine Unit was working to identify the raft's owners, Jackson County Fire District 1 (JCFD1) shared information about its new rescue boat that was deployed September 9 for a homemade raft stuck on rocks at Savage Rapids, stranding its two riders. JDFC1 says the raft causing 911 calls today is the same raft involved in its rescue ten days ago. JCSO says the raft is very visible from Highway 99 and generating 911 calls about someone stuck in the river.
