Portland Fire & Rescue responded to an office building fire on SW Barbur early Wednesday morning.
The call first came in around 3:30 a.m.
A fire chief reported the fire was heavy throughout the entire width of the 2-story building, and crews on the scene fought the fire with defensive tactics including aerial master streams. By 3:35 a.m., the roof was reported to have collapsed, with much of it completely burning away.
However, by 4:08 a.m., the PIO reported that much of the fire had been eliminated, and shortly afterward, crews entered the building for an interior search.
Fire suppression tactics from aerial master streams off of two trucks eliminated much of the fire. The time between arrival and total extinguishment was about 75 minutes.
The response had transitioned into a fire watch and investigation by 5 a.m.
