A structure fire reported at a west Eugene farm store early on Wednesday morning is under investigation as suspicious in cause, according to Eugene Springfield Fire authorities.
ESF officials said that firefighters responded at 1:08 a.m. on September 18 to the Wilco Farm Store on West 11th Avenue in west Eugene following multiple reports of smoke and fire from the storefront. A total of four engines, two ladder trucks, and an ambulance were dispatched to the incident, authorities said. Fire officials said responding firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and visible flames at the front of the store. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked to make sure the building’s sprinkler system had limited the fire’s spread during firefighters’ response to the scene, fire officials said.
