They didn’t hit the lottery, but the township is feeling like a million after receiving a huge state grant that’ll enable it to quadruple its fire house. Aston Township will receive a $1 million state grant.
The funding, provided by the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, will be used to renovate and expand the Aston Township Fire Department’s Green Ridge Fire House on Dutton Mill Road. The current fire house was built over 30 years ago. Plans for the fire house include renovating the current 5,250 square foot facility and building a 15,430-square foot addition.
Sean Joyce, president of the Aston Township Fire Department, expressed great gratitude for the funding.
