Disaster Program Specialist Beth Sawyer of the American Red Cross thanked the borough, the fire department and volunteers for their work in the recent “Sound the Alarm” program.
At last night’s committee meetings, Sawyer thanked the borough officials, fire department and residents for their work in the Sound the Alarm program, which installed smoke alarms free of charge.
On April 28, 84 volunteers went door-to-door and installed 500 smoke alarms and 28 batteries in 135 homes, and provided fire prevention materials in 15 homes.
