Ephrata Township man barricades self in room, sets house on fire, police say

Police and firefighters were called to an Ephrata Township home Monday morning after they say a man set it on fire. The fire happened at the home at 51 Hoover Drive around 8:30 a.m. Police say a man and woman live at the home with two children. Police were called to respond to a domestic dispute. Police said the 51-year-old man, who has not been identified, barricaded himself in a second-floor room and started the fire. According to police, firefighters found the man hiding in a closet. He was pulled out of the home and taken to the hospital, but his current condition isn't known. The woman escaped unharmed, police said. The children were at school at the time.
