VIDEO: Carol Burke-Goodman, 73, was found dead Tuesday night in her partially collapsed home in Butler Township, Adams County.
Pennsylvania State Police said they went to the home on Stone Jug Road Tuesday for a welfare check. Troopers discovered that the structure had partially collapsed and it wasn't safe to go inside.
At this time, it is unclear if the partial collapse happened Tuesday or several days ago.
Burke-Goodman had not been heard from since Thursday, April 11.
State police said K-9 units, fire departments and multiple other agencies took part in the search for Burke-Goodman, which was challenging.
"Interior floors had collapsed. We could not make entry because it was very hazardous and unsafe," said Heidlersburg Fire Company Chief Dwayne Keen.
