A minivan was engulfed in flames outside of Sheetz, 8000 Olde Scotland Road in Southampton (Franklin) Township, when firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:36 a.m. Wednesday. The call was initially thought to be a fire inside the business, according to dispatch information. However, the fire was contained to the van that was parked away from the gas pumps. It took about 10 minutes to get the blaze under control. There was no damage done to the Sheetz store. No injuries were reported to any occupants of the vehicle. The cause of the fire was undetermined. Emergency personnel from West End Fire & Rescue Co., Vigilant Hose Co., Cumberland Valley Hose Co. Fayetteville Fire Co., South Newton Township Fire Co., Newburg-Hopewell Fire Co. and Shippensburg Area EMS responded to the scene.
