A brush fire broke out near the Erie International Airport Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters from West Lake, Fairview and West Ridge battled dry conditions to fight the fire, located behind the Lowe's on Asbury Rd. Crews worked for half an hour to put out the fire, and responded to another fire near Powell Ave.
Fire crews notified the railway company that they were working near the tracks, but there were no major stoppages in rail traffic.
The fire was out by 3 p.m. Thursday.
