VIDEO: First responders from seven fire departments battled flames at a barn fire in Somerset County overnight. Officials say they arrived at Windswept Lane in Berlin around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and found heavy flames on the ground. They say the flames claimed the lives of several horses and cattle. An official with the Shanksville Fire Department says they had a good water supply to fight the blaze, and were able to put it out in just a couple of hours. He says all departments cleared the scene just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, and no one was injured in the fire other than the animals. They have declared the barn a total loss but have not yet determined the cause of the fire. A state fire marshal will be on scene Wednesday to investigate.
