Robert E. Stackhouse entered the kingdom of God on March 13, 2019.
Other than his family and his church, his third love was the fire service in which his involvement spanned 60 years for the betterment of his local community and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Throughout his years in Lewisburg’s William Cameron Engine Co., he held various leadership positions, culminating in his being chief for six years before retiring. As chief, Bob helped to ensure fire protection throughout the Lewisburg community. He assisted in creating an inmates’ fire brigade at the federal maximum-security prison in Lewisburg, for which he received a national award presented by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and further was recognized in a letter from the President of the United States in 1970; he was also instrumental in developing a program for students of Bucknell University to become active members of William Cameron.
