Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that gutted a mobile home on Dogwood Street in Laurys Station, North Whitehall Township, early Tuesday. No one was injured in the blaze, but three adults and one child have been displaced, said Laurys Station Fire Chief Robin Hood. It was a 9-year-old German shepherd named King who alerted the family to trouble shortly before 5:30 a.m. He nudged 11-year-old Makenzy Lauer awake, pacing nervously and occasionally barking as smoke filled the mobile home.
