VIDEO: Crews are fighting flames at a business in Easton, Northampton County Wednesday afternoon.
Fire crews were dispatched shortly before 5 p.m. to Palmer Plastics at the 2900 block of William Penn Highway, county dispatchers said.
People are asked to avoid William Penn Highway around 25th Street, dispatchers said.
Arriving crews found a piece of machinery on fire, said township Fire Chief Jim Alercia.
“By the time we got a knock on the fire the fire had already made its way up the wall and into the roof line that runs from one building to the next," Alercia said. Fire crews then needed to trench cut the roof.
“We are going from the peak of the roof and we have to trench to the eaves of the roof,” Alercia said.
