A 28-year-old Coplay mother is accused of setting fire to a mattress in her South Seventh Street apartment during a fight with her husband Saturday night, endangering her two small children.
Elisabet Martinez Genao faces several counts of felony arson, reckless burning and recklessly endangering another person. She was arraigned Sunday, sent to Lehigh County Jail and is now free after posting $60,000. She does not have a listed phone number. About 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Coplay police were called to Elisabet Martinez Genao’s apartment at 32 S. Seventh St. in the borough and saw black smoke coming from the windows of the home, court records indicate.
