Every year during Fire Prevention Week, firefighters in Bethlehem come together to honor those they've lost in the last year. Bethlehem's fire department on Wednesday honored three retired firefighters who passed away.
It's a similar scene each year, and it's something Bethlehem Fire Chief Warren Achey feels will always have the utmost importance.
"These guys spend a lot of time in the fire station. They become family," Achey said.
Bethlehem began holding memorial services after 9/11.
They're typically held during Fire Prevention Week for firefighters who die in the line of duty, but Wednesday's service at the Schweder Fire Station honored retired firefighters Louis Chuck, Charles Krenos and Alfred DiClemente.
"They (firefighters) do make a difference and they can't be forgotten," Achey said.
