Funeral services have been announced for a Pennsylvania medical emergency responder who died in the line of duty. Northwest EMS Paramedic Doug Zima passed away Saturday, May 30, while on a call in Londonderry Township, the agency said. Zima and his partner were provided care to a trauma patient when Zima suffered cardiac arrest. Zima’s partner immediately began resuscitative efforts and an advance life support crew from Life Lion EMS took over care. Zima was transported to the hospital where additional resuscitative efforts were not successful. Zima was a Lancaster County paramedic for 26 years and served most of his time with Northwest EMS. He is survived by his wife, Tina, and his daughter, Allison.
