What was initially reported Sunday (Oct. 18, 2020) shortly after 7:30 p.m. as a vehicle fire at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Springertown Road turned out to be much more, the Royersford Fire Department wrote on its RFD Watchdesk blog, although it added that no one involved at the scene required emergency medical services care. Royersford firefighters and fire police, accompanied by members of the Liberty Fire Company in Spring City, and Upper Providence Township Police Department officers arrived in response to the fire call. As crews pulled up, however, a different vehicle “crashed through the road closure at 2nd Avenue and Hafner Road, striking signs and knocking over a portable toilet,” the report stated.
