It’s a story state Sen. Lisa Boscola hears all too often after snow hits Pennsylvania.
Ice, snow or both fall from an uncleared vehicle on a highway and crash into another vehicle, leaving smashed windshields and injured passengers.
Boscola has repeatedly proposed legislation that would require drivers to clear ice and snow from vehicles 24 hours after a storm ends.
While her bills have moved out of the state Senate, they have stalled in the state House of Representatives. When there’s a bad storm or someone gets hurt by falling ice crashing into a car’s windshield, Boscola starts getting calls and emails with photos.
“I see it all the time,” she said Monday afternoon from Harrisburg, as snow continued falling in the Lehigh Valley.
Over the weekend, ice fell off of one vehicle on Interstate 78 and into the windshield of a car.
