A woman was killed and her husband was injured after a fire broke out at a home in Center Township.
The fire broke out in the 400 block of Center Grange Road on Wednesday morning.
The Center Township fire chief and police chief say one woman was killed and one other person was injured. Police believe the victims were husband and wife, both estimated to be in their mid-60s to early 70s.
The husband was able to escape, but the wife wasn’t, police say. She was rescued from the home by first responders but was unfortunately unable to be resuscitated. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Right now the official cause of the fire is unknown, but fire officials believe it started on the first floor.
The extent of the husband’s injuries is unknown at this time.
