VIDEO: An early-morning fire in Beaver County destroyed the Idlewood Industries building. The fire started just after 5 a.m. at the building on Georgetown Road in Vanport. The building was destroyed.
“I actually got a call that our building was possibly on fire,” said mechanic Bernie Conner.
Conner got to Beaver Tire and Service as fast as he could when he heard the news. He soon realized his employer’s business was safe, but the building next door wasn’t.
Surveillance video captured Idlewood Industries go up in flames.
“From what I heard from the neighbors who were around, they were 30 to 40 feet in the air,” said Conner.
First smoke, then fire, then firefighters responding.
“Lucky, there were so many people around who called it in when they did. That way they could get it knocked down,” said Conner.
