Several people who live in Washington County are left trying to find a place to stay after a tornado destroyed their homes on Thursday evening. The National Weather Service confirmed three tornados in Washington County. One was in Peters Township, one was east of West Finley and one was in Hopewell Township, the NWS said. Mount Pleasant Fire Chief Adam Lohr’s house along Willow Road in Hopewell Township was hit by a tornado. Lohr, his wife and 2-year-old weren’t home at the time and are safe. But their house is not livable. In Hickory, Washington County, another home had its roof ripped off. Patty Popp lives on Dairy Road and says the community will come together to help each other. The American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania said volunteers assisted three adults and one dog after a tornado ripped through their home in the 100 block of Dairy Road in Washington.
