Providing a reason to be grateful this season, Penn Township Fire Department received a sizable donation toward a new engine on behalf of a local family affected by overdose.
A donation of $100,000 was presented to the Penn Township Fire Department toward a state of the art apparatus Dec. 1 on behalf of the Brandon E. Skiles Memorial Fund.
In 2018, at 33 years old, Brandon overdosed on narcotics, and his family, including his parents Jim and Lisa, continue to tell his story and share resources with the community in order to erase the stigma and prevent further devastation.
