VIDEO: A Hanover Township, Northampton County family and the family's dogs are safe Wednesday after their home went up in flames Wednesday morning.
It was a little before 10:30 a.m. when the Hanover Township Fire Department was called to Oakside Circle. The home was fully engulfed by flames when crews got there.
Officials are calling it a "multi-county" dispatch, when fire crews from different areas have to be called in. The reason? Lack of water.
"The fire was a three-alarm fire due primarily to the lack of water supply in the area. The utility that provides the water to this area is working to enhance it," said John Finnigan, Public Information Officer for Hanover Township.
Hanover Township officials explained that the lack of water and low pressure in the hydrants forced the firefighters to use water 'tenders," trucks that collects water at one spot and bring it to the scene.
