A Swatara Township intersection has been shut down for hours Tuesday because of a crash involving an SUV and fire engine, police said. An SUV and a Susquehanna Township fire-rescue truck collided around 9:06 a.m. at Highland and Harrisburg streets in Swatara Township, police said. There was a first-alarm house fire reported around the same time on St Mary’s Drive in Steelton. Police said the intersection is still closed as of noon and will remain that way until the early afternoon. Swatara Township police and the Dauphin County Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating. It is not immediately clear how many people were involved or the extent of their injuries.
