PHOTO: A fire broke out on Heller Drive in Yardley on Sunday evening, causing severe damage to a local home.
Around 6:46 p.m., units from the Yardley Makefield Emergency Unit and Morrisville Fire Company arrived on the street following reports of a dwelling fire.
According to the Yardley Makefield Emergency Unit, two people at the scene had rescued the family dog by the time the unit's Medic 100 had arrived. The medic unit established Yardley EMS Command and Medic 172 was requested to the scene.
The Morrisville Fire Company's Rescue 98 responded with Station 0.
Units were at the scene for just over two hours, fighting the fire and aiding those affected by it.
One fireman on the scene was reportedly treated for a heat-related issue. The unit's Special Service 168 arrived to offer rehab services to those in need.
