Crews worked to put out a brush fire Wednesday morning in Luzerne County. Officials with Hughestown Emergency Services say multiple brush fires broke out along the Suscon section of Pittston Township. Residents reported seeing smoke from several miles away. It's unclear how the fire started, but officials say no homes are in danger and most of the running fire has already been put out. The Pittston Fire Company says firefighters were able to get the flames under control and extinguished in under an hour. DCNR Forestry will continue to work on the scene to mop up all hotspots.
