For the last 10 years, the Wesleyville Hose Company has hosted a Christmas tree sale, selling evergreens along Buffalo Road.
But right now, the sales lot sits empty.
This year, the department's usual tree company didn't have enough trees, leaving firefighters scrambling as they tried to make up the difference.
They've now sourced enough trees from local growers, and the sale will begin Friday. but firefighters say it's just the latest blow after a difficult few years.
"You roll with the punches," said Chief Pete Kloszewski. "Luckily, we did get a little bit of a heads up. We placed our order in July, and we got a phone call that the order wouldn't be possible this year. Then you start looking out, figuring out who you can find locally or within a couple-hour radius to get these trees."
The tree sale begins Friday night and continues through the weekend.
