The cause of a massive industrial blaze in West Easton may never be known.
West Easton Police Chief Robert Mahady told the borough council Monday that the origin of the April 4 fire at 1550 Lehigh Drive has not been determined and experts are closing out the investigation.
Mahady said an official fire report has not been completed but the consensus of multiple fire experts is that the fire burned too hot to leave any evidence of the inferno’s source.
“There’s nothing left,” Mahady said.
The fire destroyed a $9 million warehouse complex, including the inventory of eight businesses that operated out of the warehouse.
Mahady said he met this week with six different fire marshals, and other fire experts from various agencies and insurance companies.
“It was determined that they are not going to be able to determine the origin,” Mahady said.
