Fireworks may be to blame for fires in Berks, Northampton counties

Officials say both of the fires that broke out are under investigation. One destroyed a home and the other was contained to a garage. This is the aftermath of a fire that broke out on Mohrsville Road in Shoemakersville around 3:00 in the morning. A Leesport Fire Company official says fireworks debris was found in the front lawn. The homeowner tells us someone set off fireworks in his front yard. He tells us the fireworks crashed through his window, igniting the home. In the 2300 block of Forest Street in Wilson Borough, Northampton County a garage caught on fire with a car in it. Smoke spread to four other garage units in the same building. The fire chief tells 69 News investigators are on focusing on the car and fireworks.
