Firefighters put out a fire Friday at a Lebanon County landfill. Crews were dispatched to a landfill on 1610 Russel Road around 8:06 p.m. for reports of a fire, according to theUnion Fire Works Company #1. On scene, firefighters found flames coming from the top of a trash pile. Fire officials told CBS 21 that the landfill has been having issues with batteries being thrown in the trash. The Union Fire Works Company #1 noted that the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority will help recycle batteries for free at its Electronics Recycling Facility on 1805 Russell Road.
