A former East Greenwich fire chief has filed a complaint with the Rhode Island Ethics Commission, claiming the current president of the local union has violated the Rhode Island Code of Ethics. On March 16, former chief Peter Henrikson who served as chief of the fire department from 2010 to 2013 filed the complaint against IAFF Local 3328 President Bill Perry for the hiring of his brother James Perry. The complaint alleges that Bill Perry, who is a lieutenant for the fire department went against a previously sought advisory opinion from the ethics commission regarding the stipulations under which his brother was hired.
