A Cranston company is facing violations and a fine from the federal government following a chemical fire that sent more than a dozen firefighters to the hospital in January. OSHA, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, has cited ProSys Finishing Technologies on Elmwood Avenue with several "serious" violations based on an inspection the day after the fire. OSHA found the company did not ensure each container of hazardous materials was labeled and that there was not a complete inventory list of chemicals in the facility. OSHA also found workers were not given effective training on hazardous chemicals in their work area and that there was a lack of emergency response training for workers.
