A woman who was pulled from the water near Goat Island in late October has died, according to authorities.
Lieutenant Frank Rosa Jr., of the Newport Police Department, told NBC 10 News Tuesday that "she passed away in the hospital."
It is unclear as to when the woman passed away. Firefighters in Newport responded to call of a body in the water at about 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21.
Newport Fire Chief Brian Dugan Sr. told NBC 10 she was transported to Newport Hospital where she was revived before being transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
The name or age of the victim has not been released.
