There's been another setback for East Greenwich's embattled town manager after a report from the Rhode Island Ethics Commission concludes there was probable cause to an ethics complaint filed against her in December 2017. The complaint claims Town Manager Gayle Corrigan violated state ethics laws when she appointed her business associate, Linda Dykeman, as the town's finance director and then acted as her supervisor. Eyewitness News has learned Corrigan will have an opportunity to respond to the complaint. This follows Corrigan's clash with the town's firefighters union over platoon restructuring and a ruling by a superior court judge last fall that her original appointment as town manager violated open meetings laws. When reached for a response on the complaint, Corrigan sent Eyewitness News a statement from East Greenwich Town Council President Sue Cienki. Cienki said they are "disappointed" that the Ethics Commission decided to move forward with the complaint.
