The town’s ambulance service is getting by with a little help from their neighbors. The Tiverton Fire Department went to Facebook Thursday night alerting residents that if they are in need of ambulance services to not be surprised when a Middletown rescue vehicle arrives. The need to rely on Middletown for assistance is because all of Tiverton’s ambulances were out of service with mechanical issues. “If you call for an ambulance tonight in Tiverton, the ambulance that will come to your house will either be a Middletown or Little Compton truck with our Tiverton firefighters staffing it,” the post noted. It’s not the first time the town has turned to others for help. About a month ago the same mechanical issues led to a Little Compton ambulance being borrowed for medical services.
